Cape Hatteras National Seashore ~ North Carolina, USA
A travel poster like design for Cape Hatteras National Seashore fitting the format of the SA knife.

My aim was to create a travel poster like design that could be adapted to the format of the small SA knife. Also make it like a postcard with two distinctive sides that would be informative and enhance the imagery.

Which place, city and country is featured in your design? (place/city/country)

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse protects one of the most hazardous sections of the Atlantic Coast, the dangerous twelve-mile long sandbar called Diamond Shoals. Hundreds and possibly thousands of shipwrecks in this area have given it the reputation as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. The first lighthouse was lit in October of 1803. Made of sandstone, it was 90 feet tall with a lamp powered by whale oil. The restored Lighthouse received it's famous black and white stripe daymark pattern in 1873.

Describe why you have chosen this place as a visual? What story does your design tell?

I've always been fascinated by Lighthouses. By their history and distinctive architecture, And their many different paint patterns. Every Lighthouse has an interesting history and story unto itself.
