Solution

Since the beginning of this contest, my initial idea was to illustrate the Great Wall of China. Considered to be the only manmade project visible from the moon and the most impressive landmark built so far (from the top of snow mountains till it ends by touching the sea), we can't disassociate the great wall from China's history. That is why this was a long process before start illustrating because I wanted to use every blank area around the wall, to fill with iconic representations of this country as well. This way I believe there is more than just a cute landmark illustration, by enriching all context with history and curiosity elements.

Hi, my name is Nelson Costa and I live in the wonderful city of Lisbon, Portugal. I have more than 15 years of experience, developing my professional skills as a Graphic Designer and Creative Director in several Agencies. Recently, after my children's birth, I started to work full time as a Freelancer.
