Solution

I wanted to show the fascinating japanese island of Tashirojima by representing one of the most characteristic and adorable sights that people can encounter while visiting Japan and the captivating sight of cats of all shapes and colors playing around at the docks . All of this while showing the beautiful landscape of the island with the fishing boats at the distance, depicting thus the most distinguishable elements of the island that makes it so unique and charming.

Describe why you have chosen this place as a visual? What story does your design tell?

Tashirojima is one of the best places to show the close relationship that has existed between Japanese people and cats for thousands of years. For me, there is no more lovely vision than the one of the cats of the island waiting at the docks for the return of the fishermen to welcome them. The cats are kindly taken care of by the people of the island, consisting of mostly elderly people, and in return, the cats help the fishermen to keep them safe and predict a good catch.
