Midsummer is the period where the sun doesn't really go down in the northern countries. The sky is like burning during this time and is full of wonderful colors – pink, orange, yellow and blue. It's the summertime with the long days, where for example the Fins catch there energy for the long dark period in autumn, winter and spring. The time, when they spend their time outside, for example at their summer houses called Mökki.

Which place, city and country is featured in your design? (place/city/country)
On the front it is Helsinki, the capital of Finland with its cathedral and the baltic sea. On the back some typical finnisch landscape – one of the thousands of lakes, a typical wooden cabin and also the colors of midsummer.
Describe why you have chosen this place as a visual? What story does your design tell?
I love Finland and Helsinki specifically. Everything is abit more peaceful there, a bit more slow, a bit more clean and a bit more friendly. The people are patient, open minded, helpful and really friendly. I love the nature and all the water you can find wherever you go. Beautiful landscape and lovely people. And sitting at the shore of the baltic sea or one of the million lakes and watching the midsummer sky is one of the most peaceful things. Can't wait to be there again.

Hi! My name is Saskia and I am working as a graphic designer. I live in Düsseldorf, Germany. I’ve been working here as a designer for 13. I created this design for Victorinox because I think it shows one of the most beautiful sceneries. It shows midsummer in Finlands capital and in the quiet landscape with a typical wooden cabin. The colors are warm and friendly and invite everyone to join the beautiful and peaceful midsummer days and nights.
