Solution

Dasht-e Kavir represents one of a kind place and territory. Both far and close, tangible and intangible, it is characterized by iridescent atmospheres and breathtaking topographies and colours. It is like an abstract painting that remind us of the rust-coloured landscapes of Mars.

The choice has been driven by the evocative power of this place. The design emphasizes the continuously evolving surfaces, the chromatic richness and material fluidity of the mineral soil.

I am an Italian landscape architect. The contest has inspired me in creating a design focused on mutable landscape, with a strong chromatic and naturalistic impact, of Dasht-e Kavir, located in the vast desert of the Iranian plateau.
