Leaning Tower of Pisa
Classic design has fun propping up classical architecture, a known worldwide landmark.

Solution

Everyone loves to have fun taking a photo of themselves propping up the leaning tower of Pisa, now it's time for the Victorinox Classic Design to join in the fun and utilize it's classic feature blade to take the weight. The idea was to incorporate the knives features within the design. The second option which also emphasizes the idea was the London Orbital which has the largest curly slide in the world interlacing through it's sculptural architecture, so the design would have utilized a Victorinox feature corkscrew to represent the slide, but the featured knife doesn't have a corkscrew!

Which place, city and country is featured in your design? (place/city/country)

The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pisa, Italy

Describe why you have chosen this place as a visual? What story does your design tell?

Everyone who visits the leaning tower of Pisa loves taking a photo of themselves propping up the tower, it's a fun landmark and a classic just as the Victorinox Pocket Knives are classic in design and a fun product. Utilizing the classic blade feature to prop up the leaning tower of Pisa is a fun way to introduce product design to my kids, and families around the world.

To be featured on social media as the Victorinox "Pick of the Day", please write a short statement about yourself (see more details in the brief).

I'm a Dad of two boys, my wife is Canadian and we often venture to Canada or back home to where I grew up in the Lake District. Our boys had their first Victorinox pocket knives at age five and they have been a great tool to nurture their adventures and responsibilities. Design wise, we are all designers but many years ago I garnered a background in fine art from Central Saint Martins and that passion has stayed with me, one which I try to develop with my kids through these cool opportunities.

Please make sure you’ve filled out your country of origin in your profile and insert your country of origin here:
