Hi, Im a Sri Lankan designer living in Australia. For this submission I worked on a Japanese camellia flower pattern which is known as Tsubaki. The pattern became popular in the Edo era of Japan. Although the actual flower has many petals it is represented in a very simple way on the patterns. This is why it caught my attention.
