I am Orce Nineski from Skopje, Macedonia. I’ve been an artist for more 20 years and an illustrator for 2 years. The design was inspired by the Macedonian folk embroidery found on the clothing. The pattern looks like small, colorful squares put in a geometrical order which resembles the idea of the contemporary pixel structure. The idea is to make a bridge between the past and now. The colors were adjusted in a way to emphasize the shift from traditional and local to universal and global.
